Overview

This series of tutorials are written and produced by award winning photographer and digital imaging specialist Geoff Riggs. He’ll walk you through all the procedures and techniques needed to get you up and running in Adobe’s flagship digital imaging program, Photoshop CS2.

Once you’re familiar with the basic concepts and operation of CS2, Geoff will then provide hands-on training with over 5 hours of project based lessons.

You’ll learn to create real-world compositions such as designing a corporate report cover, a movie poster, an event poster and even a bulletin board collage.

Also included are in-depth lessons on photo enhancement, retouching, color correction and photo restoration techniques.

And as a bonus, Geoff provides some useful and fun extra “goodies” to help you along the way.

Here’s just some of what you’ll learn:

The Work Space (Running Time: 6:28)

This video will introduce you to the Photoshop CS2 interface and the various menus and palettes that reside within the work space.

Customizing the Work Space (Running Time: 4:15)

In this video you’ll learn how to customize the workspace to get it exactly the way you want it. You’ll also learn how to adjust and rearrange menus and palettes and save various work spaces that can be called up with a click of the mouse.

Creating a New Document (Running Time: 4:55)

This video provides you with all the information needed to create a new blank document. You’ll learn to set the document size, resolution, color mode and various other settings within the new document dialog. You’ll also learn how to save and use custom document presets.

File Operations (Running Time: 14:00)

Learn how to get your images into Photoshop, organize your photographs and even batch rename and save entire folders of images using Adobe’s file browser replacement “Bridge.”

Working with Layers (Running Time: 11:56)

Understanding the concept of layers is arguably the most important aspect of using Photoshop. This video will illustrate the fundamental concept of Layers and provide an in depth look at the Layers Palette.

Color Modes (Running Time: 5:33)

In this video Geoff explains the different color modes and provides an explanation of and differences between RGB and CMYK color modes.

Tonal Adjustments

Adobe Photoshop CS2 provides a plethora of tonal adjustment tools. Geoff walks you through these various tools and methods for making tonal adjustment to your images.
